  • Time Synchronization System Using Satcom

Indian Railways’ Automated Train Protection System (IR-ATP) also known as Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) also called KAVACH (AE09) is a fail-safe, reliable, and easy-to-use 2 x 2oo2 architecture-based system.

Time Synchronization System Using Satcom

The main objective of the system design is to synchronize various network timing systems used by PGAD located at different places, with accuracy better than 2 micro seconds with reference to a reliable standard timing source.

The system design also aims at providing time synchronization at each location with in 25 microseconds from the reference, even when the reference is not available for more than 4 hours after initial synchronization period of 1 hour.
